Carrie moved to Kentucky at a very young age, met and married Lindsey Alexander Washington. To this union, they were blessed with one child, Bernice Carolyn, who brought them an abundance of joy, and unconditional love, and a full garden..

Carrie lived a full, vibrant life as the matriarch of the family. For 98 years she taught strength, unity, loyalty, love and value to all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and many others during her walk of life.

Even in her later years, Carrie was the life of the party and the family will carry on her favorite saying “Oh what a party, I should have stayed home”, in constant remembrance of her.
