Life’s journey for Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Posey Montgomery, daughter of the late Grandill and Mable Wills Posey began March 8, 1939, in the town of Lincoln, Alabama. She was the second child born to this family of eight children, three girls and five boys. Her parents took their family to church regularly, so it was no surprise when Liz accepted Christ into her life at an early age while attending services with her grandmother, Mattie Wills. She became a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

By the spring of 1957, she became a graduate of the Talladega County Training School. About two and a half years later, she married Johnny Montgomery on December 23, 1959, at the home of her parents. They were blessed to become that parents of two children, Vernecia “Nan” L. Bush and Don L. Montgomery.

Louisville, Kentucky, became her home in February of 1960. Liz wasted no time in finding a church home, so by the end of February, she had joined Community Missionary Baptist Church. She was blessed to find employment at General Electric in 1974 where she worked until she retired April 1, 1999, after 25 years of service. This gave her more time to enjoy her favorite things to do which were cooking, baking and working in her flower garden.

On June 2, 2022, Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Posey Montgomery began a new life with her Heavenly Father. She leaves behind to cherish their many, fond memories of her: children, Vernecia L. Bush (Robert) and Don Montgomery; two grandsons, Reginald and Derrick Bush; four great granddaughters, LaRayh, Akya, Harmoni, A’Rosa; and one great grandson, DaKarai Bush, all from Louisville, Kentucky; siblings, Grandville, Fletcher, Daniel (Patty) Posey from Louisville, Kentucky; Flossie Pearson and Carlton Posey, both from Alabama; goddaughter, DezLarree Vann; five bonus great-grands; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
