Margaret B. White (Peggy), was born March 7, 1929 to Mildred Jackson and Robert Henry Brown. On, Thursday, August 3, 2023, the all knowing and loving God gave to another one of his beloved servants rest and eternal life. God knew His own was tired, He reached down and called her home and set her – pain free.

A native of Lexington, KY, she received her education in the Fayette County Public School system. She is a graduate of Dunbar High School, class of 1946. She continued her education at Spencerian College in Louisville, Kentucky, enrolling in and completing a business program that would lead to home ownership for single mothers.

Margaret confessed her love for Christ at an early age and began her Christian journey with Main Street Baptist Church, Lexington, KY. She would later go on to serve with Corinthian Baptist Church (Lexington, KY) and attended many services at the Historic Pilgrim Baptist Church (Lexington, KY) with her extended family. Upon, moving to Louisville, KY, she joined Forest Tabernacle Baptist Church (1983), under the leadership of Rev. James Anderson, Jr. where she served faithfully for many years. She served as a Sunday School Teacher (youth), a member of the Missionary Society and used her cooking skills in the culinary ministry.

Margaret worked many jobs, however she retired from Canteen Service, cooking and serving breakfast and lunch at General Electric Assembly Manufacturing Plant.

Margaret was a kind and loving person. She worked long and hard to provide for her children. She would often say, “I may not have been the best mother, but I did the best I could.” And her labor was not in vain. The one gift she gave in abundance is LOVE.

Margaret B. White, leaves to cherish her legacy and memory, her children: James (Dolly), Melvin (Gabe), Marilyn, Willis, Wanda, Clara, Beverly, Phillip (Niecy), Cheryl, Kenneth (Michelle), Jonathan and Bernetta.
