Wayne Forte, 62 of Louisville died Friday, June 4, 2021.
Visitation 10-12 noon Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral to follow at 12 noon. Burial Louisville Cemetery.
Wayne Forte was born October 8, 1958, in Louisville, Kentucky, to his proud parents, Marvin and Mary Forte. He was their fifth and the last child born to complete this family. When Wayne was still at a tender, young age he began his Christian journey with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while attending Vacation Bible School at Forest Baptist Church where he remained a member until his life ended.
As with most people, Wayne had habits or activities that were just like clockwork. Oh, how Wayne took such great pride in taking care of his parents and providing for their needs. He was also a man who genuinely enjoyed his private time. For Wayne, being alone was both a treasure and a pleasure, and he found most of that precious, private time through his daily exercise of walking. His daily walks were Wayne’s opportunity to kill two birds with one stone---clear his head and receive his daily exercise at the same time.
Some people may have thought Wayne appeared to be a loner at times, but there was another side to him too that some may not have gotten to enjoy. He was a jokester at heart who entertained others with his “gut clenching” jokes that would make those around him fall out laughing.
Wayne’s lifelong occupation was cooking. His specialties were baked beans and crispy fried chicken wings. He “honed” his culinary skills by being employed at Indi’s and Long John Silver’s restaurants. Wayne also kind of dabbled in landscaping by having the opportunity to work with his brother, Marvin Jr., at his landscaping nursery.
To the surprise of the family, Wayne Forte was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 4, 2021. He joined his family members who preceded him in death; his parents, Marvin Sr. and Mary Forte; grandmother, “Big Momma” Lizzie Reed, and niece Delisha Forte.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Wayne Forte; wife, Kim Forte; sisters Gloria Allen (Roland) and Anita Forte; brothers Marvin Forte, Jr. and Ronnie Forte; Grandson, Wayne “Wayne Wayne”; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives & friends.
