Katheryn Mildred Wagner Westmoreland, at the golden age of 100, transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

Visitation Friday, September 9, 2022 12 Noon to 1:00 pm at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral to follow at 1:00 PM. Burial Resthaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Kathryn Mildred Wagner Westmoreland was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to Henry and Carrie Wagner on February 10, 1922. She was the only daughter of their three children. Kathryn, who was known to some as "Mildred", surrendered her life to Christ January 18, 1942, at First Virginia Avenue Baptist Church under the pastorate of A.H. Shumake. She was an active member who served on the Nurses Guild and sang in the Jubilee Chorus under the pastorate of R. J. Miller.

She worked for Louisville General Hospital and Fair Lodge Nursing Home. Her dedication to service abounded in every facet of life. In her selfless sacrifice, she recalibrated her focus on family and home

such as in that of a “Virtuous Woman”. On July 5, 1947, Kathryn married L.P. Westmoreland. To this union five children were born, Jacqueline, DeWayne, Randal, Fabian and Jilder. “What God has brought together, let no man separate.” This was the applied scripture in Kathryn and L.P.’s marriage of 59 years until death did they part. The depth of Kathryn’s love for God and family was immeasurable!

Being very prim and proper was one of her strongest attributes, and her poise was impeccable. It was a skill set to which one should aspire. What a blessing that her 100 years of knowledge and wisdom was shared with the generations of those God placed in her path. She was also known and sought after by many for her phenomenal cooking skills. Any who sat at her dining room table for any of her meals left knowing, beyond a doubt, that they had been filled, loved, and blessed!

On Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the golden age of 100 years old, Kathryn Mildred Wagner Westmoreland went to be with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L. P. Westmoreland; brothers, James Henry Wagner and Fulton Gregory Wagner; sons, Fabian Wagner; DeWayne Westmoreland, and Randal Westmoreland; and grandson, Damon Waldon. She leaves to love and cherish their memories of her: two daughters, Jacqueline Waldon and Jilder Westmoreland; ten grandchildren, Jarrel Waldon, Kevin Waldon, Brandon Westmoreland, Travis Westmoreland, Dontez Westmoreland, Rontez Westmoreland, Kitta Westmoreland, Jilian Westmoreland and Julian Westmoreland; five great-grandchildren, DaShaun Waldon, Jessica Waldon, Aria Waldon, Malik Waldon, and Zoey Waldon; daughters-in-law, Brenda and Francis Westmoreland; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will treasure the fond memories Kathryn has given to each of them.

The continuation of Kathryn Westmoreland’s story has been written and may be found in Proverb’s 31:10-31. Amen!!!
