Albert "Al" Harris IV, age 52, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with a long-fought illness.

A memorial service to celebrate Al's life will be held at W.T. Shumake and Daughters Funeral Home, 3815 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY 40218, on May 3, 2025, at 12 noon.

Al was born on July 12, 1972, at Methodist Evangelical Hospital to the late Albert Harris III and LaVern Bond Harris (Beasley), who preceded him in death.

A proud graduate of Southern High School, Al distinguished himself as an All-State linebacker, known for his strength, determination, and leadership both on and off the field. His passion for life, loyalty to family, and his big heart left an impression on all who knew him.

Al leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children, Ta'Kia Harris (Nathan Pride) and Terrell Harris (Tori Cleveland); his treasured grandchildren, Jamyiah Tribble, Lala Woodard, Tarez Petty, and Ta'ryiah Harris; and the mother of his children, Danette Cooksey-Choate.

He is also survived by his siblings Wanda Harris Maddox, Ricky Andre Harris, Keiana Beasley-Cook (Joaquin), Walter Montez Hall, Devontae Beasley, Rayshawn Beasley, Paul Beasley, Miranda Beasley, and McKenzie Beasley, along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Al's legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
