Born Caroline Bennett Watson on November 17, 1948, in Colón, Panama, she was the youngest of ten children born to
Erminela Watson. Following the passing of her mother when Caroline was nine years old, she was lovingly raised by her grandparents and other family members.
Caroline met Darryl Hope while he was serving in the United States Army and stationed in Panama. They were united in marriage on May 7, 1979, and shared 47 wonderful years together. Before settling in Louisville, Kentucky, they lived in Germany and Arizona.
Caroline worked as a nurse's aide and attended Voice of Hope Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching cooking shows, sewing, and crocheting. Known for her caring spirit and outspoken nature, Caroline never hesitated to help family and friends whenever
she could.
A devoted mother of eight, Caroline was preceded in death by two of her children,
Miriam Hope and Carlos A. Hoy Bennett.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Darryl Hope; six daughters,
Jessica, Stephanie, Angela, Ann, Tanage, and Tina; two sisters, Elena M. Gordon and
Joyce Martin; approximately 20 grandchildren throughout the United States and Panama; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Caroline was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
