Christopher Eugene Harris, 52, of Louisville died Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Visitation 10-12 Saturday, March 4, 2023 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral to follow at 12 Noon. Burial Louisville Cemetery.

Christopher Eugene Harris was born November 9, 1970, in Louisville, Kentucky. His proud parents were Delores Harris and David “Dinky” Williams in Louisville, KY. He was the eldest of his siblings. He was a graduate of Moore High School. He has worked at the Key Mart and Breckinridge Inn. Most recently, he worked with his cousin, Tyree, helping him clean multiple buildings. Chris was also a handy man who always volunteered to help anyone in any way he could.

Chris was a loving, caring, outstanding man who would give any one the shirt off his back. He always thought of others needs before his own. As a die hard University of Kentucky fan, he didn’t mind telling everyone that he bled blue, although Chris was always outnumbered by a family full of U of L Cardinal fans. He often had the bragging rights as U of K had more rival victories over U of L. He would brag before, during, and after the games, because he knew his Wildcats would win. Go Big Blue!!!

Chris was a Newburg legend, and his greatest fulfillment was grilling for his family and friends. He was a master griller who worked alongside Big Dave. Chis was “always the life of the party”! If you were in his presence, he made sure everyone had a good time, and that included himself. As soon as the music started, Chris would be the first one on the dance floor.

On Saturday, February 25, 2023, Christopher Eugene Harris departed this life. He was preceded in death by his stepparents, Charles and Glendis Fowler. We can only think that God's reasoning for taking you is because you had a huge barbecue to cook in heaven, and what better person to be at the center of it all. “Chris, make it do what it do with the barbecue. Rest in peace. We love you and will be missed dearly.”

He leaves to cherish their memories of him: his parents, Delores Harris and David “Dinky” Williams; daughter, Breanna Robinson; sisters, Cherese Young, Trina Fowler, Denise Fowler and Kimberly Fowler; brothers, Frederick Harris, Sr., and Charles Fowler, Jr.; godmother Eva Johnson Bewer; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
