Christopher King, 53, of Louisville died Monday July 26, 2021.

Christopher King was born Friday, December 8,1967, to the union of James and Candus Jones King in Sprott, Alabama. He was the third child of their five children. Christopher was baptized at the age of 12 at Old Oak Grove Baptist Church. He completed his required years of schooling and graduated from Francis Marion High School in Marion, Alabama. After graduation, he moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to find employment. He worked successfully at Alro Steel for a number of years.

Besides working, Christopher found time to have fun too. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. GO ROLLTIDE! Entertaining and cooking were what he enjoyed doing so much. In fact, Christopher turned their garage into his “man cave”. It had all of the conveniences needed to have the guys over to watch TV, hangout, and keep the bonds of friendship alive. When he wasn’t in his man cave, Christopher might be found in Chickasaw Park sporting his gray Brougham 1986 Cadillac, which was his pride and joy.

Christopher may have loved his sports teams, cooking, friends, and cars, but he found someone greater than all of those things when he met and fell in love with Shirmeika Sprouls. They married, and welcomed their new life together with three “fur babies” (dogs), MidNyte, De’Bo, and De’Lo. They were a happy family.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, James King and sisters, Darlene Gray and Eileen King.

At the tender age of 53, Christopher King on Monday July 26, 2021, was called to take his Heavenly rest. Christopher leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Shirmeika; daughter, Cadence Giles; son, Jonathan Payne (Tierra); grandchild, Taylor Small; mother, Candus King; sister, Princess King; brother Eric King, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He will be greatly missed

Visitation 10-12 Monday at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral to follow at 12. Burial Green Meadows Cemetery.
