Cynthia Alice (Maddox) Davis entered life on Tuesday, June 11, 1940, the daughter of the Late Earl and Lucille (Duncan) Maddox in Nelson County, Kentucky. She was one of seven siblings who all enjoyed a life of love, laughter and joy with her large family, which includes four children, seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She confessed a hope in the Lord Jesus Christ as a young woman at Community Baptist Church, Louisville, KY.
Alice, as most affectionately called her, loved her family, enjoyed baking, and was famously known for her brown sugar pies, chocolate pies, banana pudding, yeast rolls, and homemade donuts. She was known for her cooking at regular family gatherings. Alice loved casting a fishing line into a lake to reel in a fresh catch for dinner. Oddly, she would not put a worm on her hook, she always had someone else do it for her.
She had a real love for flowers and planted and cared for them with a true green thumb. The real joy of her life was her grands, from the oldest to the youngest. She was the easiest person to please and was always grateful for whatever you did for her. She took her eternal rest on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the precious age of 84.
She is preceded in eternal rest by her father, Earl Maddox, mother, Lucille Maddox, and two siblings, Clara Biven and Joey Maddox, along with her late husbands, Joe Knott and Albert Davis. To her union with the Late Joe Knott, the Lord blessed them with four children: Deborah Knott, Connie Martin (Sammy), Troy Knott, and Kevin Knott. She leaves to cherish her life and memory, three sisters, Marsha Gilbert, Willie Moran, and Patricia Conaway, and one brother, Earl Thomas Maddox. They, along with the grands, scores of cousins, and close friends, will continue to remember Cynthia Alice (Maddox) Davis with joy and fondness for the balance of their lives.
