Deborah "Debbie" Jean Robinson, 68, died Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Norton Audubon Hospital.

Visitation 11-1 Tuesday June 14, 2022 at Greater Friendship Baptist Church 2325 Osage Avenue. Funeral to follow at 1pm. Burial Green Meadows Cemetery.

Deborah “Debbie” Jean Robinson was born Saturday, July 18, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, and became the daughter of Owen C. Robinson and Doris Jean (Moore) Williams. She was their oldest daughter and was affectionally called “Lady”. Her Christian journey began at an early age when she confessed her faith in Jesus Christ at Lampton Baptist Church. Debbie graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1973 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. She received an honorable discharge when her service for our country ended. Then she attended Spalding University. Debbie became an employee at General Electric (G.E.) in the print department for many years. After leaving G.E., Debbie became a dedicated bus driver for Jefferson County Public Schools and was known for making the most challenging of students behave while on their bus ride with her both to and from school. She remained with JCPS until her retirement due to declining health.

Debbie loved family, sports, bingo, and the Derby Dinner Playhouse. When she was not involved with activities at the Chapel House, the senior living facility where she lived, Debbie enjoyed watching Game Show Network and talking to friends on the phone. While at the Chapel House, Debbie was surrounded by three angels, Sheryl Clay, Bonnie Brown, and Roniecissa Todd. Debbie always greeted everyone with a smile. Although her sight was impaired, she still maintained her quick wit and dry sense of humor. In her last selfless act on earth, Debbie was an organ and tissue donor.

Sadly, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, God called Deborah “Debbie” Jean Robinson to eternal rest in His kingdom. She was met at the gates of heaven by her parents, Owen C. Robinson and Doris J. Moore Williams; brothers, Meredith D., Owen E., and Eric N. Robinson; sisters, Carolyn and Owenisha Robinson; granddaughter, D’Zariah; nephew, Meredith D., Jr.; and niece, Stacey Robinson.

Deborah “Debbie” Jean Robinson leaves to cherish their many memories of her with her son, Courtney (Tiffaney): stepchildren, Mackenzi Galbreath and Christian Winfield; siblings, Robert (Carla), Kevin (Beverly), JaKobi (Anita) Robinson and Pamela Morton (Geary); sisters-in-law, Barbara MarchbanksRobinson and Susan Robinson; nephews, Kevin Jr., Eric Jr., Dominque Sr., David Sr., Marcus, and Brandon Robinson; nieces, Dana Burns, Danita Lewis, Kendra Robinson, and Monique Malone; uncle, Hiram C. Moss Sr.; and a host of other family members and friends.
