Donald Leland Moran, 61, of Florence, Kentucky transitioned on Monday, November 27, 2023 at St Elizabeth Health Care.

Visitation 11am - 12 noon Tuesday, December 5,2023 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral to follow at 12 noon.

Donald Leland Moran was born August 23, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky to John and Jennie Lee Wells. He was one of nine children. He was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System, and graduated from Waggener High School.

The saying, “Dogs are man’s best friend”, was held true by Donnie. He loved dogs, and always had one, two or more. In fact, upon his passing, he was the proud owner of two dogs.

Donnie owned a motorcycle, and he took enjoyment in riding it. He discontinued riding motorcycles after a serious accident, but that did not dampen his spirits or his love for motorcycles. He also collected guns, but always maintained and adhered to all safety rules and regulations.

Donnie had a gift of persuasion, and used that gift to be a top notch salesman. He was employed by J. D. Byrider, both in Louisville and Florence, Kentucky, as a Car Salesman. He retired from J. D. Byrider after 25 years of dedicated service – come rain, snow, or sunshine, he was on the job.

On Monday, November 27, 2023, Donald Leland Moran, departed this life on earth. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wells, and one sister, Joslin Moran Bell. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Jennie Lee Wells; wife, Elaine; children, Lauren Moran, Jordan and Jeremy Ross, Mica Moran; one granddaughter; siblings, Bessie Garner, Richard Moran (Lucy), Hope Moran, Jeffrey Moran, Donna Dudley, Byron Moran (Ebony), Steve Moran; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
