Dorothy Louise Baldwin was born Sunday, May 24, 1942, in Limestone County, Alabama to Ollie Green, Sr. and Annie Mae Green. She was their first child of ten. She was baptized at an early age with four of her ten siblings at Community Missionary Baptist Church. She was a praying woman with a song in her heart and joy in her soul. She attended Fern Creek High school where she graduated and received recognition for being a high achiever.

She met the love of her life Jessie Samuel Baldwin, Sr. They married and raised five beautiful children. She loved spending time with her children, playing cards, jacks, tickling them to make them laugh or just guiding them towards being a Christian. God was always in her heart and home. When she was not spending time with the family, she was attending the Louisville School of Dentistry to become a Dental Assistant. She was a hard working and dedicated student. Her hard work did not go unnoticed. After she completed her degree, she started working as a Dental Assistant at Neighborhood Health Center and later accepted a position at Aetna Insurance Company. She had so many passions in life that she decided to venture into becoming a Real Estate Agent and eventually became a broker and opened Baldwin Realty.

Dorothy was a phenomenal cook with recipes for every appetite. No one that entered her kitchen would ever leave hungry or dissatisfied. She loved God, family, and her flower garden in that order. She would spend endless hours planting and beautifying her flower garden. It was always picture perfect. In later years, sitting on her back porch with her mom looking at the flowers and hearing the birds singing brought her so much joy, which is something they did together for over 30 years. She took pride in her flowers and would happily show them to anyone that was visiting.

As an active member of the Community Missionary Baptist Church, Dorothy had a beautiful voice and loved sing in the choir. She also taught Sunday School and served on the Nurses Guild. She would always do whatever she could for her church.
