Visitation Saturday, May 16, 2026 from10am- 12pm at W.T. Shumake & daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral to follow at 12 noon.

Edward Lee Williams, Sr. was born on November 12, 1956, to the union of Mary Williams and Charles White. He was one of five children born to this loving family. Edward was known for his warm spirit and kind heart. He enjoyed biking, listening to music, meeting new people, and spending time outdoors. He was friendly, approachable, and always willing to lend a helping hand. One of his favorite sayings, “You alright?”, was his simple yet meaningful way of checking on others and offering support.

Edward met and married Carmelita Wilson, and together they shared over 30 years of love, companionship, and commitment. From this union, he gained a devoted stepdaughter, Jasmine Wilson.

Edward dedicated over 30 years of service to Masonic Homes of Kentucky, where he was a valued and hardworking employee. He retired in 2024, but like many who find purpose in their work, his retirement was short-lived. He chose to continue working full-time until his health began to decline.

On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, Edward answered God’s call and transitioned peacefully to his eternal rest. His presence, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Edward leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Carmelita Wilson; his children, Cheyenne Williams, Chanel Betts, Alaina Williams, and Edward Williams Jr. (Sharina Splan); along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Delcina Williams; his brothers, Raymond Williams and Albert Williams; his stepbrother, Charles Lee White; and his stepsister, Lavonne Downs. He further leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Williams and Charles White, and his brother, Michael Williams.
