Elizabeth "Duchess" Jones, 55, of Louisville died Sunday at her home.

Visitation 12-2 Saturday, April 15, 2023 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road.

Elizabeth ‘Duchess” Jones was born on Monday, September 18, 1967 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Willie Jones and Wilma Clark.

She attended Price Elementary School and went to Bruce Middle School where she played basketball and continued playing basketball at Manuel High School. After graduation she enrolled at Murray State University and was proud to be a Murray State Racer basketball player.

Her working career would lead her to work for Mark Islam at Buckhead Mountain Bar and Grill for 13 years, and many years for the Wendy’s franchise.

Duchess loved her family and she loved being in the park and celebrating outings with her family and friends. She was a very loving and caring person and loved everyone.

Elizabeth D. “Duchess” Jones at the tender age of 55 was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 2, 2023. She is survived by her children: Jordan Lane, Kaylyn and Karrington, 2 sisters and 8 brothers who all loved her dearly; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews and 3 great childhood friends that she was extremely close to- Veronica Simmons, Carmen Chatman, Devon Dale.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents on both sides of her family, a sister and several cousins.

Elizabeth will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
