George Franklin Tichenor, 69, of Louisville died Tuesday January 18, 2022 at Norton Hospital.

George Franklin Tichenor, was born June 22, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky to parents, Leonard H. and Lydia Beatrice Gilbert Tichenor. He was the youngest of seven children born to this union.

George received his formal education in Bloomfield, Kentucky. He was raised in Fairfield, Kentucky, where he was affectionately called “Frankie” by his friends.

At an early age, George was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Bloomfield, Kentucky.

“Frankie” was a diehard Kentucky Fan. He bled blue. There was no red in his veins. That’s how much he loved U of K. In celebrating the wins of Kentucky, or just having a good old time, George was the life of the party. He had his comical antics, jokes, and humorous personality, that put everyone at ease in his company. Family meant a lot to George, and his nieces and nephews loved their “Unc”. He was the highlight of their day when he was around.

George enjoyed tinkering with cars. He was a mechanic at heart, but sometimes failed to put all the parts back together, and then he would say, “Ahh, it don’t need that.” He was employed at Bachman Chevrolet Dealership, but we doubt that he was their mechanic.

Chitterlings “Chitlins” and Pig Feet were George’s favorite foods, but don’t forget he needed the hot sauce and a nice cold Natural Ice to wash down the fat. These may have been his two favorite foods, but he was known to make a mean pot of Chili that would make you lick your fingers.

Frankie was a “jack of all trades”, and was also an entrepreneur in financing his needs at others expense. He was good as gold and would do anything for you, whether you were family or friend – a good hearted person.

George was united in marriage to Donna Blincoe Tichenor in 2005, but their relationship had a span of 19 years in total. He loved him some Donna.

George Franklin Tichenor, departed this life on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Donna; son, Robin Tichenor; daughter, Malika; sisters, Lillian Warner, Thelma Tichenor, and Louanna Tichenor Simms (Donald Simms); 10 grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 6 Step Children; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Leonardo Tichenor; sisters, Betty Warner Hines, Rose McMakin; and one brother, William Tichenor.
