Jalen Keion Henderson was born Wednesday, October 23, 1996, to Natasha E. Henderson and the late Robert P. Wilson. As a young child, Jalen loved to ride bikes and do flips. He was known for his handless flips which he did very well. He was a jokester and always joked with his family and friends except when it came to his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He was a true fan!
His love for family was so deep that he would go to any lengths to protect them because he believed in complete loyalty. Jalen accepted Jesus Christ into his life at an early age while living in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended church for a while. When he called his Granny Nadine to let her know, she along with others around her rejoiced while they were still on the phone. When he returned to Louisville, he joined New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church.
He went on to try to find his way and started working while he was still living in Atlanta. Jalen hung in there as long as he could until transportation became a problem, but he still didn't give up. He decided to return home to Louisville and went back to Ahrens High School where he received his diploma. He always told his granny, "I just want to make you proud", and he did. Granny was so proud of him as he began to make his way through the workforce. He worked at Ferrero Snack Bakery, LG&E as well as other jobs for a while. He never gave up on trying to find that job that was for him. All he ever wanted was to find a good job to take care of his children and family that he loved so much.
Jalen is preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Smith. He leaves behind to mourn his passing: three beautiful children, Dallas Lee Wilson (4 years old), Iviana Rose Wilson (3 years old), and Londyn Marie Wilson (1 year old); six siblings, Tevin T. Henderson, Kyle E. Wilson, Joshua T. Henderson, Aniyah S.R. Love, Nandi E. Knuckles, and a sister, grandparents, John Henderson, Shirley Henderson, Nadine Miller Wilson, Larry K. Miller stepfather; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
In spite of the obstacles Jalen had to go through, he never gave up. Even now, he’s probably walking back-and-forth in heaven watching over his children, his family and his loved ones. So, you go ahead, my grandson, and do your new job until we see you again. We all love you and will miss you
