James Albert Hobbs, fondly known as Jimmy, was born Thursday, September 16, 1954, in Louisville Kentucky, to David II and Gertrude (Talbert) Hobbs. Jimmy was the fourth out of ten children: David Hobbs III(Judy), Harriet Rogers, Brenda Hobbs, Gertrude Simpson (Ronnie), Robert Hobbs, Rosie Rogers, Maurice Hobbs, Bruce Hobbs, and Johnnie Hobbs.

A heavy storm is what James “Jimmy” Albert Hobbs was in, but please don’t shed tears because he finally made it out of that heavy storm and into a better place. No one knew the pain and suffering he was going through.

Jimmy was a great person to be around. There was not a dull moment because he was a natural comedian who loved to sing and even dance at times. He was pumped with so much joy and laughter that he brightened up the entire room. Whenever people were in his presence, they felt his caring spirit on the inside and outside. He will be missed immediately by many. Until our earthly life ends, love one another because no one knows the day or time when we must weather the storm.

Jimmy had love for so many and will be watching over his loved ones as they continue to go through the heavy storms of life. Although James Labert Hobbs went to his eternal home on July, 15, 2024, Keep your heads up and push to be great while he, Bruce, and Johnny are back together harmonizing in heaven. Rest easy, Three Stooges.

Jimmy was a painter, maintenance man, and worked with Labor Ready here in Louisville. He also continued his job skills while living in San Francisco, California. One thing is for sure, and that is, there’s a party going on right now at the gates with Jimmy, Bruce, Johnny, Josh, Tim, Dequante and Jacky. They are rejoicing and having a family reunion. Fly high and shine on us forever. In our hearts, we miss all of you, but y’all weathered the storm… JIMMY HANDY MAN, JACK OF ALL TRADES!

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bruce Hobbs and Johnny Hobbs.
