James Altoria "Pete" Davis, 65, of Amityville, NY, transitioned on Tuesday, December 27, 2025 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Visitation 2-3pm Sunday, January 4, 2026 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road Louisville , KY. Funeral will follow at 3pm.

James Altoria Davis was born May 8, 1960 in LaGrange, North Carolina to proud parents Yvonne Rose Curry and James Gilbert Davis.

He was a graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School in Louisville, Kentucky. James was employed at Nassau Chrome, located in Mineola, New York as a driver. He had been a dedicated employee of Nassau Chrome since 1991, and was known for his strong work ethic.

James may have worked diligently and gave his all to his job, but he still found time to enjoy his life and find relaxation. He enjoyed devouring a good steak, relaxing with his favorite television shows, and sipping on a cold Corona. While James, like all of us, had his flaws, he was ultimately a good man who loved deeply, and will be remembered for his heart, strength, and devotion to family.

James had a deep appreciation for music, especially the artistry of Prince. He counted his favorite songs to be Little Red Corvette, Raspberry Beret and Purple Rain, some of Prince’s most notable songs.

Sadly, and with heavy hearts, James Altoria Davis went to his eternal home on Saturday, December 27, 2025 in Louisville, Kentucky. He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Queta King of Louisville, KY, Crystal Davis of Amityville, New York, Tauree Davis of Paducah, KY, and Skyy Davis-Fitz (Daylann) of Bowling Green, KY; his youngest sister, Jane Mansfield Harris of Louisville, KY; three bonus children, Cortez and Kebba Lockridge of Ellenwood, GA, Greedy Ballentine of Roosevelt, New York, and Tee Ballentine of Paducah, KY; his beloved grandchildren that he cherished deeply and gave his all to them with no questions; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne Rose Curry; stepfather, Randolph Lee Curry, and his sister, Betty Marie Curry.
