James Curtis Jamal Cox "Enoch", 34, of Louisville passed on Tuesday, September 3, at Norton Audubon Hospital.

Visitation 10-12 Saturday, September 14, 2024 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral followed at 1pm.

James Curtis Jamal Cox, (Enoch) was born July 22, 1990, to Marie A. Wright and Richard L. Smith in Louisville, Kentucky at the University of Louisville Hospital. James was Marie’s second child, and she always considered him as her “Miracle Baby”.

Enoch was a graduate of Seneca High School. After graduation, he furthered his education and attended a college in Somerset, for a year. He had an interest in learning anything that he could, no matter what the subject happened to be.

He loved watching movies, listening to music, reading, and putting a smile on someone’s face. Enoch had a personality and a sense of humor, that invited people into his circle, and could create in them a hearty laugh while in his presence. He was a very sociable person. He knew how to defend himself, and would teach any interested person, how to defend themselves, also. Most importantly, and foremost, was the fact that Enoch loved his family, friends, and children.

Enoch had the desire to be employed with his sister, but because of health concerns, he was unable to continue working. However, he was employed as a Cook at Lee’s Restaurant.

James Curtis Jamal Cox (Enoch), departed this life on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Marie Wright; father, Richard Smith; two brothers, Thomas Cox and Emmanuel Cox; sister, Merri Kimbly; three other siblings; and a host of other relatives and friends.
