James Freddie Trice, 85, of Louisville transitioned on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Baptist Health.

Visitation 12-2 Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Evangel Newburg Church 4119 E. Indian Trail. Funeral to follow at 2pm. Burial Petersburg-Newburg Cemetery.

James Freddie Trice was born on January 16 1938 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky (Christian County) to James Lewis Trice and Wilma Mae Evans Trice. He was one of their three children.

When the family relocated to Louisville, James, at a young age, began his Christian journey at Forest Baptist Church where he professed his faith in Jesus Christ.

As a young adult, James caught the eye of his sweetheart, Florence and after a short courtship, they were united in Holy matrimony. Their honeymoon lasted 65 years. Along the way their family grew to include Connie, Kenneth, Ricky, Stevie, James, Audrey and Vicky.

James served 5 years in the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1958. He found employment with Boone and Boone Sanitation and retired from BFI Sanitation after 30 years of service. His hard work and dedication to his employment, provided his family with a very comfortable living.

Being a hard worker, did not deny James the opportunity to enjoy spending quality time with his family, relaxing and working in the yard, watching U of K sports, and enjoying the pleasure his cars brought to him. He also had an artistic and creative side that allowed him to be focused sit for hours drawing, while listening to the Blues.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Evans; father, James Lewis Trice; sisters, Minnie Trice, Mary Robertson; grandchild, Sanantonio Sullivan; great grandchildren Darius Robertson and Jeremiah Abstain; daughter-in-law, Kim Miracle.

On Saturday, September 30, 2023, James Freddie Trice departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Florence; children, Connie Trice, Kenneth Trice, Ricky Trice (Barbara Mills), Stevie Trice (Gina), Vicky (George) Payne, Audrey Howard (Forrest), James Trice; 19 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchild.
