James Thomas Quinn was born to Bessie May Williams-Turner and Thomas Quinn on July 22, 1943. Affectionately known to many as “Godfather,” he departed this earthly life on September 25, 2023, and is now resting with God the Father.

“Quinn” was most notably known for having a very “spirited” personality and was always the LIFE of the party; in fact, there really was no party without Quinn—he was the party! Beyond that, Quinn was full of wisdom, which he shared with much vigor and candor. He was well-loved by many, as he always gave and loved unconditionally and unselfishly, not asking anything in return.

Quinn and Martha were married for 30 years. Though they never had children together, they parented many together; always a haven, providing a loving, caring, and nurturing place to anyone who needed it. Quinn was the self-appointed neighborhood watchman, always on his post. He knew and loved his neighbors, and they knew and loved him right back.

Quinn leaves to cherish his memory, his “Pretty Lady,” Martha Quinn; his sons, Kevin (Kimberly) Quinn, and James Quinn; his daughters, Carol Hendricks, Vickie (Joseph) Williams, Latoya Quinn, Tarcha (Cary) Prejean, and Samantha Jenkins; 32 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-greatgrandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends. Quinn also had a very special angel here on earth in his neighbor, Renee Porter, and her family, who loved and cared for him until the very end. Quinn was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles Turner; his brother Gary Quinn; his son, Anthony Quinn; and his daughter, Angella Waters.
