Jeannetta Robinson was born on December 4, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Jean Classic Mac Harvey. The oldest of eight children, she accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Guiding Star Baptist Church in Louisville. She attended JCPS and earned her diploma on December 3, 1968.
On December 30, 1968, Jeannetta enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She served as a clerk typist, completed a Nursing Assistance Medical course, and received the National Defense Service Medal. After three years of service, she was honorably discharged.
Jeannetta married Noah E. Mack, Sr., and together they had three children: Dawn Mack-Simpson (Terell), Alisha Mack, and Noah E. Mack, Jr. She began her nursing career at the VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1983, she earned a Certificate of Achievement as a Home Health Aide, followed by a Nursing Assistance certificate from the VA Medical Center in 1985. After retiring from the VA, she continued serving others through home health care, private duty nursing, nursing homes, and private in-home care. She also worked in a supervisory role at Kimco Cleaning Services for about three years.
Jeannetta later married Harry Carr on October 3, 1993. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with family and attending family gatherings.
Jeannetta joined Forest Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Anderson, Jr. She was an active member, serving on the Pastor's Aide Committee, attending Women's Conferences, and traveling to other conferences. She especially enjoyed attending gospel conferences with her daughter Alisha.
For a time, she attended as many evening church services with Alisha as possible.
Jeannetta's favorite color was red, and she was a devoted Louisville Cardinals fan. She was often seen driving a Cadillac, her favorite car, from DeVilles to Eldorados.
Jeannetta enjoyed reading, traveling, watching television, and dining out with family and friends. She loved family vacations, cruises, and bus trips with her son Noah to Louisville basketball and football games out of town. Her favorite shows included The Young and the Restless, Sistas, and Zatima, and she enjoyed anything produced by Tyler Perry. She attended Thunder Over Louisville with her family every year until her health kept her from going during the last two years. She also enjoyed eating at Texas Roadhouse, Cheddar's, Drake's, and Culver's.
Jeannetta had a green thumb and loved plants. She could identify different plants and knew how to care for them. Her favorite drink was Pepsi, especially ice-cold, and she was known for bringing her own Pepsi to family functions because nothing else would do.
Throughout her life, Jeannetta loved many dogs. Her current dog, Apollo, held a special place in her heart and was able to spend time with her before her passing.
On June 15, 2026, Jeannetta Robinson transitioned to her eternal resting place, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Harvey; her grandparents, Samuel and Emma Lou Shelton; her ex-husbands, Noah Mack, Sr. and Harry Carr; her grandson, Cortez Mack; and her great-grandson, Zi'Keyus Mack.
