Jermaine DeRamus was born on October 3, 1971, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Janice Sutherline. Known affectionately as “Jack,” “Tigger,” and “Tinache,” Jermaine was a proud graduate of Taft High School and dedicated his career to the maintenance profession.

Jermaine found his greatest happiness in life’s simple pleasures and in the company of those he loved. An avid outdoorsman, he was never happier than when he was fishing or camping. He was also a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the UK Wildcats. With a unique gift for humor, Jermaine never knew a stranger; he had an exceptional ability to make everyone feel instantly at home and fill a room with laughter.

Above all, Jermaine’s heart belonged to his family. His children were his greatest pride and joy and the center of his world. He was also the proud grandfather of three cherished grandchildren.

With whispers of love and hands held gently, the world said goodbye to Jermaine DeRamus on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the age of 54. He was supported throughout his life by his grandmother, Ruth Tate, and by his parents, Reuben and Janice Sutherline. He is survived by his children, Dominque, Jermaine Jr., and Tremell; his twin brother, Dewayen; his brothers, Orlando Lamont (Joy), Kevin L. (Timeka), and Damon; his companion, Timika Hendricks; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

While our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we take comfort in knowing that Jermaine’s strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family will live on in all who knew him. Though he may be gone, he will never be forgotten.
