Kim Denise Johnson Diaz, 56, of Louisville died Thursday, September 8, 2022 at St Mary Elizabeth Hospital.

Visitation Thursday. September 16, 2022 4-8pm at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral 11 am Friday, September 16, 2022 at Burnett Avenue Baptist Church 6800 S. Hurstbourne Parkway. Burial Louisville Memorial Gardens West.

Kim Denise Diaz was born to the late Isaac J Johnson and Leonia Banks on Tuesday November 16, 1965, in Louisville, Kentucky. Kim was the second oldest of four children.

Educated in the Jefferson County Public School system, Kim graduated from Fairdale High School in 1984. She worked at Ford Motors Co Truck Plant for over 23 years.

Kim was a proud dedicated mother and sister first and- foremost. She treasured her son Joseph who was the most important part of her life and embraced every earthly moment spent with him. As the only girl amongst her siblings, she had a special and loving relationship with her brothers and took joy in her role as their “second mother”. She had a positively contagious and vibrant personality and had the natural ability to make the people around her smile and laugh. She had a welcoming presence which enabled her to quickly and easily strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger. Whenever afforded an opportunity, Kim enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was a die-hard Raiders fan.

She was preceded in death by her son Joseph (JOJO) and brother Anthony. Kim Denise Johnson Diaz was granted her angel wings on September 8th, 2022. She was surrounded by family and close friends during her final days. She is survived by her Grandmother Catherine (Cat) Mitchell, her brothers Dasmond D. Johnson, Tyrone D. Johnson (Myoshia), Nieces and nephews (Jerry, Daniel, Tarik, Angel, Brevin, Tyasia, Tyrell, Jalisa and Julian) and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and extended friends and family.
