Laurel Benjamin Browne was born on Monday, September 4, 1939 in Monserrat which is a Caribbean island in the Leeward Islands, which is part of the chain known as the Lesser Antilles, in the West Indies. His parents, Alexandria Buffonge Brown and John Brown welcomed their 3rd youngest child. Educated in the Islands (St Thomas, St Croix). Laurel gained a wealth of knowledge before moving to the United States on February 4, 1967. “Rex” has he was fondly called by friends and family, enjoyed playing the steel pan, singing, body building, etc… He was a true entrepreneur. He was a carpenter, dental technician and owner of a laundromat. He interests were varied and ability to converse with people on all levels. His greatest joy, however was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his children Rena and Laurel Jr., siblings Tan, Gloria, Nancy Susan, Mary and John. On September 3, 2018 the day before his 79th birthday, Laurel Benjamin Browne departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, April, Anthony, Janet, Turkeshia, Myoshia, Pamela and Darryl.;one brother, Evan Brown and a host of extended family and friends.
