Michael Dewayne Moran, 58, of Louisville died Tuesday at Norton St Matthews Care Center.

Visitation 1-3pm Saturday, September 25, 2021 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road. Funeral to follow at 3pm.

Michael Dewayne Moran was born on Tuesday, October 30, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the second of four children and the only boy. Of course he felt special and answered to “I’m HIM”. It became his nickname along with “Lil Mike” and “Chocolate Cat”.

Michael, at an early age, united with Forest Baptist Church. In 1980, Michael graduated from Durrett High School. After graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army, later changing to the Kentucky National Guard, where he received his training to become a Military Police. Michael continued his education and attended Watterson College to study the Plumbing trade.

Michael enjoyed family gatherings where he looked forward to playing a few hands of cards, and “cutting the rug” (dancing). He found enjoyment in watching the U of L Cards play, and attending “Ole Skool” concerts.

On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Michael departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Mary Bridgewaters; sisters, Debbie Moran, Rhonda (Tony) Garrison, and Lee Andra Bridgewaters; nieces and nephews, Brea Williams, Brandon Williams, Ravyn Thompson, and Maurice Richardson, Jr.; a very special cousin, Richard Thompson, Jr.; three aunts, Jennie Lee Wells, Mabel Mansfield, and Garnetta Moran; and a host of cousins and friends.
