Pauline Beckham was born on July 31, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky to proud parents Dorothy Washington and James Washington. She was one of 12 children, and the oldest daughter. She was born, raised and lived in Louisville all of her life, never to leave Louisville except to visit her youngest daughter Kristen in Florida.

At an early age, Pauline accepted Christ as her personal savior. Her spirit was like "gold" and she loved the Lord. She lived her life as if God was her father. Pauline was educated in the Public School System and graduated High School.

Pauline was united in holy matrimony to Kenneth Beckham. To this union, five children were born.

Working hard and never complaining, described Pauline's easy-going, pleasing personality. She was a beautiful soul inside and out and adored by many. Pauline loved her children and grandchildren. They were the love of her life. She enjoyed her time with family, friends, and her neighbors, who assisted in providing good care for her. Her neighbors were also considered "family". Pauline liked to reminisce and share about old times. She was a woman of many talents and gifts - singing, cooking, dancing, sewing, and fishing. Her strength came from her son, Maurice Washington. He was her "rock".
