Phillip “Boo” Brown was born on Sunday, March 8, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky. His proud parents were Rusaw Brown and Myrtle Clark Brown. When he entered this world, he did not know anything about the size of his immediate family, but he grew to know he was blessed to be a part of a large family that consisted of nine children including himself. His parents saw to it that the family attended church, and because of that, Phillip accepted Christ at an early age.

“Boo”, which was his nickname used by family and friends, enjoyed doing many things. Fishing was definitely a favorite sport of his. Whether it was a stream, pond, lake, or river, he could be found casting his line into the water. He spent hours there just enjoying the peace and quiet of his surroundings and hoping that a big fish would choose his line. Jazz and hip-hop music also appealed to Boo, and it was what he could be found listening to whenever he had an opportunity. When it came to sports, he was a diehard U of L football and basketball fan. Sometimes he watched cooking shows on TV and saw them as being both informative and entertainment for him, but most of all, hanging out with family and friends was always a special time.

Phillip was married to Evelyn Toogood for eighteen years before their divorce. On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Phillip was called to take his rest. Phillip Brown leaves to cherish their memories of him: sisters, Francine Brown, Annette Brown, Jackie Brown; brothers, Cameron Brown and Kevin Brown; numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces, and other family members.
