Quinnita Dobson-Tinker, 46, of Louisville, transitioned on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Memorial Service will be held 3pm Sunday, February 8, 2026 at W.T. Shumake & Daughters Funeral Home 3815 Newburg Road.
Quinnita Dobson was born March 4, 1979 in Louisville, Kentucky to Shirleen and Pompey Dobson. She was the only girl and the youngest of three children. Being the only girl, she was probably the "Apple of her parent's eyes".
Quinnita was a courageous and phenomenal mother, who overcame many obstacles in life. She spent most of her days being the caregiver for her mother and her sons. She raised five boys from babies, and with her love, nurturing, and caring, they have now become the young men that they are today. She loved the ones she called family, but there was a special place in her heart for her sons.
Loving and caring were the characteristics of Quinnita. She was always available and showed up for others who were in need. She was a comforter when you needed a shoulder to cry on, and she was a listener when you needed someone to talk to. No matter what Quinnita was going through, she could hold her own, and still provide whatever you needed.
Through the toughest times in life, and as Quinnita was getting more ill, she always made a way for her family. Trials and tribulations did not deter Quinnita from trying to make the best out of a difficult situation so there could be a good outcome.
Quinnita put her family as top priority. She loved to cook, and every Sunday, she would play her favorite R&B playlist and cook Sunday dinner for her family. That was a time for gathering, eating, and enjoying the jokes and family memories.
"Remembering the times, we will be joyful. Discovering that there will be no more of a mother's love will be the pain I feel. I'll carry on knowing that you'll guide your sons through this life. You're one of the strongest women I've ever known. Knowing you didn’t let things break or define you, it only made me love you even more. Through the good and the bad, I couldn’t have asked for a better mother. Sunshine is gone and rainy days are here, but I just didn’t know it would be so soon. For love in my heart, this isn't a good bye, but it’s simply, see you later. You'll be forever in our memory."
Sincerely, Marrko
