Raymond Maurice Johnson Jr. was born on March 3, 1985, to Raymond Maurice Johnson, Sr., and Avery Harbin. From the time he was a baby, he was lovingly raised in the home of his grandmother, Brenda Hazel and aunts Cherie Hicks, Rhonda Johnson, Bridgett Johnson, and Delisha Johnson. He later came to live with his father Raymond Johnson Sr, and wife LaTasha Johnson.
Raymond matriculated through the Jefferson County Public Schools System, graduating from Fern Creek High School with the Class of 2003. During his high school years, he was a standout football player, known for his talent and dedication to the game. After graduation, he embarked on a career at Ferguson Enterprises, followed by a brief tenure at Ford Motor Company. However, Raymond had an independent spirit and a desire to carve his own path. With an entrepreneurial mindset, he established a handyman services business, offering his skills to those in need. He was also a founding partner of ABC Realty Solutions, a venture that reflected his ambition and drive.
Raymond had a heart of gold and a generosity that knew no bounds. He freely gave his time, love, and resources to his family and friends, always placing their needs before his own. His energy was infectious, and his presence could brighten any room. Among his greatest joys was playing with the children of the family, whether it was jumping on the trampoline, wrestling, or engaging in free play. The younger members of the family adored him, drawn to his warmth and playful spirit.
Above all, Raymond’s pride and joy were his beloved children, Raymond III, and Journee. Watching them grow and evolve brought him unparalleled happiness, and he was admired by all for the devoted and loving father that he was. His unwavering commitment to his children was evident in every aspect of his life.
On March 2, 2025, Raymond passed away due to health complications, leaving an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, generosity, and laughter will continue to live on in the cherished memories he leaves behind. He is survived by his loving parents, Raymond and LaTasha Johnson and Avery Harbin; his precious children, Raymond Johnson III and Journee Johnson; his devoted siblings, Brandon Morris (Diane), Tanisha Montgomery (Aaniyah, Marshall, Jr, Tristan), K'yla Johnson (Aalayah, Dakota, Nate "Willie", Dallas), Audrey Harbin, Marchelle Harbin, Natasha Harbin Samuels, DeQuan King, Karl Sowers, Jasmin Clay, James Clay, Jamel Clay, and Jalen Clay; his grandparents, Brenda Hazel, June Montgomery, and William Montgomery; fiancé Kiara Williams; aunts Cherie Hicks, Rhonda Johnson, Bridgett Johnson and Delisha Johnson, LaToye Montgomery; uncles Wm.
