Reginale "Regie" DeMille Rattler, 55, of Louisville departed this life on August 3, 2023 in Bronx, NY.

Visitation 10-12 Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Portland Memorial Baptist Church 3802 W. Market Street. Funeral to follow at 12 noon. Burial Green Meadows Cemetery.

Our beloved Reginale DeMille Rattler (Regie, as we all knew her by) was born June 29, 1968 in Louisville, Ky. Regie gave her life to Christ at a young age. She was a member of Portland Memorial Baptist Church and later on attended New Dimensions. Her devotion to her friends and family was unmatched. She never met a stranger and was always available to ANYONE who needed her, even when she was physically ailing herself.

Regie graduated from Butler High School in 1986 and was a member of the Basketball Team. She then attended Eastern Kentucky University where she received a scholarship to play basketball. A true child of GOD, Regie joined the Gospel Ensemble, and also became a member of the Alpha Angels, a sisterhood organization whose name and purpose epitomized Regie's true nature, ANGEL AND SISTERHOOD. During her time at EKU she touched so many lives and was loved by all who knew her.

Regie held a special bond with everyone she met. She showed up for everyone no matter the occasion. If there was an invitation she was always in attendance, no matter the location. The random surprises and small tokens she gave everyone just because it would make you smile. Regie had a way of making everyone feel loved, appreciated and safe. She was your friend, auntie, a mother figure to some, and always a listening ear. Regie was a woman of many titles. She was very loving and straightforward with her advice. Regie truly believed that everyone should travel and see the world. She never allowed any illness to define her nor stop her from doing what she loved. Bingo, Traveling, Shopping, Concerts, sporting events and playing family games was just a few hobbies she enjoyed.

Regie was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Smith; father, Robert Rattler; step father, Arthur Smith; and best friend Deborah Stewart.

She is survived by two children, Ryan and Chancelor; sister: Rhonda Rattler; nephew: Chadwick McDowell (Lynn); niece: Taylor Owens; great nephew: Chadwick McDowell Jr.; aunts: Renee Motley, Marilyn Thomas, Patricia Scott, and a host of people who lovingly referred to her as sister, auntie, family, and friend.

Regie was a force to be reckoned with and will undoubtedly be missed from this life. She left this earth to be with our Lord and Savior on August 30, 2023 at the age of 55. She passed in New York doing what she enjoyed most, traveling and living her life like it's GOLDEN. She is finally at peace and truly is living a GOLDEN LIFE IN HEAVEN. Till we meet again.
