Robert "Bobby" Thompson, was born April 28, 1936 in Moorefield, Kentucky, to the late George and Mayme Thompson.

Robert completed his education and achieved his high school diploma. After high school, he enlisted into the United States Navy, where he patriotically served his country. He later received an Honorable Discharge from the Navy. He continued to serve his country by enlisting into the United States Reserves after his years in the Navy.

Bobby was known and recognized for his hard work and dedication throughout Harrison County. He was blessed to be given the gift of serving others through his years in the military and in his home town.

Bobby enjoyed the simple things of life like fishing and turtling. These were activities that were relaxing for him. He was also known for his love of walking the streets of Cynthiana, experiencing the joy of being in God's nature, and as frequently expressed, "smelling the roses". Although Robert chose to often be alone to think and have "me" time, he nevertheless felt the love of everyone that was around him.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Betty Thompson; and their son, Dewayne Thompson; and a son, Robert Lewis Thompson, who was born to Robert and Colleen Blincoe; three brothers, Jean, George, Floyd and one sister Mildred Thompson.

Sadly, on December 6, 2025, Robert Thompson departed this life. He leaves to mourn his memories, a daughter, Wanda Lee; three stepchildren, Frank, Ella and Philip Patterson; a grandson, Prentiss McKellar; a great grandson, Dylan Noe; and a host of other relatives and friends.
