Robert Allen Gartin, Jr., (also known as Slim and Lil' Robbie) was born Thursday, July 20, 1995, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Jovon Brown Owens and Robert Allen Gartin, Sr. He was an energetic boy with a loving heart, especially for friends and family. This may have contributed to his decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior at an early age. He enjoyed and participated in sports to the point of being an athlete on a few basketball teams for the Jefferson County Public School System.

Some felt he missed his calling as a comedian since he was truly a jokester. His quick wit and fast responses kept those around him entertained for hours on end. Lil' Robbie had a serious side as well, always standing up for family and friends; everyone felt he had their back. He was a respectful, provider, protector, and gentle young man who believed in staying in touch with family and friends daily. "Just calling to check-in to see how everyone was doing," is what he would say. When he was not on his cell phone, he was keeping things neat and clean. Everything had its place, and he saw to it that "his" and "your" belongings were in their appropriate place.

His favorite foods were Vienna sausage and all kinds of noodles. However, he was severely allergic to seafood, and occasionally when he was exposed to it, everyone knew! His entire face would become swollen making him almost unrecognizable. Besides his favorite foods, he also enjoyed music and listening to his favorite artist, BG & Kodak Black.

Robert Allen Gartin, Jr., was preceded in death by family members: Yvonne Brown, Vivian Gartin, Quarte Atkinson, Curtis and William Gartin. Sadly, on Sunday, June 21, 2020, Robert Allen Gartin, Jr., departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Robert Allen Gartin, Sr.; mother, Jovon Marie Owens and stepfather, Artis Owens; daughter, Rae'onna Gartin; siblings, Jalean Gartin, Naveh Owens, Tanya Gartin, Elonte Owens, Arvontai Owens, Artavion Goodman, Deandre Goodeman; grandparents, Jackie Gartin, Robert Jackson, Joseph Brown, Jerry Bridgews, Josie Johnson; aunts, Sonya McDougal, Angela Gartin, Cleonette Bell, Toemica Jackson, Yolanda Parrish, LaQuita Jackson , Dorothy Phillips; uncles, Joseph Brown, Troy Brown, Lorenzo Brown, Joey Brow, Jessie Phillips; and a host of great-aunts, and uncles that he loved dearly. He will be GREATLY missed!
