Sheila Ann Hinkle Anderson, 61, of Louisville, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Colonial House Assisted Living Facility..

Visitation 12-2 Tuesday at Newburg Church of Christ 4700 E. Indian Trail. Funeral to follow at 2pm.

Sheila Ann Hinkle Anderson was born February 10, 1960, to Ella Mae Hinkle-Winston and Joe Hinkle. She was the third oldest of their five children (Larry Hinkle, Rodney Hinkle, Christopher Hinkle and Mary Hinkle-Goldsmith). Sheila grew up in Newburg and graduated from Durrett High School (now named Male High School) in 1979. From there, she went on to attend Watterson College for a few years.

As she was growing up, Sheila was known to be athletic and played numerous sports. In addition, she was a beautiful woman physically and spiritually. Sheila enjoyed her many jobs working with children in the Jefferson County Public School System. This included kids in the juvenile detention center as well. She also later pursued a career in nursing at Baptist Hospital East.

Sheila was filled with life and love. Some people wouldn’t recognize the woman she is today, due to her mental illness, but she remained herself in many ways. Shelia’s presence was strong, and her spirit remained anchored in the LORD. To know her was to love her!

Sheila was a one-of-a-kind soul who touched so many people, kin and strangers alike. She was a God-fearing woman who put the Lord first and family second. The church was the first place to look when she couldn’t be found since she was ALWAYS there doing one thing or another. Praying came naturally for Sheila, and she wasn’t shy when it came to praying for others.

Sheila Ann Hinkle gained her wings peacefully in her sleep February 2, 2022. She is survived by: daughters, Ericka Henderson (Brian Henderson) and Christina Hinkle; grandchildren, Reginald Lewis, Jr. (RJ), Jalen Lewis, Cahira Campbell, Jonathan Campbell, Jr., and Jurnee Campbell, and even a great-granddaughter, A’niya Lewis and a great-grandson “on the way”.

Sheila is preceded in death by her father Joe Hinkle and grandson Cameron Elijah Lewis.
