Sherrin Elizabeth Sweatt, 69, of Louisville transitioned to her Heavenly home on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at home surrounded by family.

Visitation 10am -12:30pm Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Watson Memorial Baptist Church 7217 Nachand Lane, Louisville, KY 40218. Funeral to follow at 12:30pm. Burial Green Meadows Cemetery.

Sherrin Elizabeth Sweatt, 69, a much-beloved Mother, Nanos, Daughter, Sister, and servant of God, received the desires of her heart and was called home to be the with Lord on Thursday, November 30, 2023. She passed away peacefully with her Father Cecil, Sister Rochelle and sista friend Gloria at her side.

She was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky on February 1, 1954 to the union o Cecil First, Jr., and the late Annette Orndoff First. She grew up in the Newburg Neighborhood of Louisville and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1972. Sherrin accepted Christ at an early age at Howard Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Claude Kimbrough in New Albany, Indiana.

Sherrin retired from Norton's Hospital after 28 years of service. She was highly thought of and well respected by her co-workers. Sherrin was a dedicated mother and Nanos. She didn't mind telling you how she felt and if she pointed her finger, you were in trouble! She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was known as one of the "neighborhood moms" and loved spending time with The Tea Cup Ladies and The Old Lady Gang "OLG" Her friends. Playing Bid whist and Po Keno were her favorite. She loved listening to music and sitting outside.

Sherrin loved to praise the Lord, she was a humble and kind Christian woman. She loved her Sunday school class and admired her Pastor. She was a member of Watson Memorial Baptist Church.

Sherrin was preceded in death by her Mother Annette and Grandmothers Alene Kennedy Carr and Grace First. Sherrin is survived by her children, AnnJanette "Angie" LaDawn Love-Jones (James), Shayla Nicole Love, Tiffany Welch (Ernest), and Shannon Brown (Clark); grandchildren, Destinee, Iyanna, Isaiah, Clark (CiCi), Adrian, Adrianna, Erick, Jaylen, Jordan and Jacobi; father, Cecil First, Jr.; brother, Cecil First III; sisters, Lynnette Rochelle Fulton (Kirk), Vanessa Johnson, Donna Brutley, and Tomika Leonard; aunt, Mildred Lacy (Willie) and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that will miss her more than words can say. Special thanks to Bonus Baby Brandy Welch for helping take care of her in her last days.
