Tonisha Alona Sharmane Montgomery, 33, of Louisville transtioned on Monday, October 25, 2024 at Jewish Hospital.

Visitation 9-11am Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Community Missionary Baptist Church 4909 E. Indian Trail. Funeral to follow at 11am.

Tonisha A'lona Sharmane Montgomery, was born on October 25, 1991, to the union of Tommie Lee Montgomery, Jr. and Teaunda Shelby Montgomery. She was one of four children.

Tonisha was brought up in the Newburg community. She received her education in the Jefferson County Public Schools and graduated from Southern High School. After graduation, she continued furthering her education and attended ATA College. She completed her college experience, and graduated, earning her degree as a Medical Receptionist.

She was employed at Aptiva until her health became a challenge, at which time she had to discontinue her employment.

Tonisha was all about family. She was definitely family oriented and tried to make sure family members stayed close and interacted with one another. She was a wonderful mother to the two apples of her eye, her two sons, Khiy'Rell and Ke'Ayr. Motherhood was a name she wore well. She always felt it was a joy and a privilege to be called "Mom". Motherhood was not a burden or a chore for her.

If you wanted someone to plan a family gathering, be sure to contact Tonisha to make the arrangements. She put her heart and soul in being a party planner. She found pleasure in planning family get-togethers, along with her cousin, Keisha. Tonisha especially went "all out" for her two favorite holidays - Thanksgiving and Christmas. She put her love, time, and great organization skills in planning for those two important days of the year. Tonisha was a talker who knew how to delegate to others in assisting with the get-togethers. No one grumbled or complained. Everyone responded favorably and "stepped up to the plate", because they wanted to enjoy the festivities planned.

Tonisha not only exhibited good planning skills, but she was also an excellent cook. Many family and friends looked forward to being in the home of Tonisha, because she knew how to entertain, made you feel comfortable in her home, and as many would say, "could throw down cooking". Some of her favorite dishes to memory were her tender roasts, well- seasoned greens, delicious deviled eggs, and her melt in your mouth macaroni and cheese. But let's not forget, she had her signature mixed drinks to quench your thirst.

Tonisha was not all work and no play, because she enjoyed listening to her Old School and R&B music. She was a U of L fan and watched the Cardinals as much as possible. In her leisure time she watched BET, Reality TV shows and did some Online Shopping.

Sadly, Tonisha A'lona Sharmane Montgomery, departed this life on Thursday, November 21, 2024. She leaves to cherish her memories, her parents, Tommie Lee, Jr. and Teaunda Montgomery; two sons, Khiy'Rell and Ke'Ayr McCain; sisters, Chelsea Montgomery, Alexsa Woodson, Madaya Wise; aunts, Charmaine Shelby, Donya Wilson, Toneka Wilson, Orise Brown, Tricia Montgomery, Tonya Montgomery; uncles, Anthony Shelby (Theresa), Frank Shelby (Keshia), Lawrence Graves, Clyde Montgomery; nieces and nephew, Essyln Montgomery, A'Niyah Woodson, Danyla Wise, Nazarioh Wise; best friend, Desharae Wright (CJ); significant other, Kenneth McCain; and a host of other family members and friends.
